Another French Parisienne lamp made of sheet brass, again with three differently coloured glass cabochons, very probably by S.I. Paris. There is an iron weight under the base, marked SI 43 Paris. Date of origin probably 1910-1920.

Unfortunately, the glass bead hanging was also so badly damaged on this lamp that I had to dispose of it. I had originally planned to replace the entire damaged glass bead hanging with newly purchased glass beads. I had also bought matching beads for this purpose. In retrospect, this work seemed too laborious for a relatively simple lamp, so I replaced the glass bead hanging with a lace border. This has made the lamp less original, but I have also saved a lot of work.

This lamp captivates with a classic urn shape, which is rare in Parisienne lamps. This distinguishes it from the other Parisienne lamps in my collection. The attached decoration is also relatively simple, but visually quite appealing.

The burner is a 15-lines Mercator burner. This burner does not seem to be known anywhere; neither G. Bruder, W. Pempel or Ara, nor all the burner catalogues name a Mercator burner.

Vase is at the same time font, round, Ø 118 mm.

15’’’ Mercator burner of an unknown producer.
Wick knob marked: Mercator Brenner 15'''. Black glass inlay.
Original flame disc of type hat-on-sieve-tube.
Flat wick 67 mm.

Glass chimney:
15’’’ Matador chimney. Height 265 mm, Ø fitter 53 mm.
Marked: Cristal Supérieur - Made in France 15''' + crown in garland.

Shade and shade holder:
Metal shade of ornamentally pressed brass sheet, 3 inset, coloured, faceted glass cabochons. Glass bead hanging damaged, discarded.
Height 98 mm, Ø bottom 230 mm.
Original shade carrier with 3 arms supporting a brass ring at the top.

Lamp dimensions:
Height up to collar 25.5 cm, total height with chimney 56.0 cm.
Total weight 1470 g.
