A marble column lamp, the base and column of which I received as a gift from a collector friend. The remaining components are my additions. I suspect that this column lamp comes from Germany, because the cast zinc column base is identical to the connector between the base and the vase of L.362, only reversed.

The base and column are made of high-quality, vivid reddish-brown veined marble. The column base and capital are of beautiful cast zinc. The lower plinth has several chipped areas which I have filled with Stabilit, finely ground and polished.

A 20’’’ Matador burner from E&G with the matching chimney and a British tulip shade went well with the lamp. I found the missing font with the faceted cut wall on eBay UK; however, I had to replace the brass undermount to be able to attach it to the column capital.

The marble base had no extra feet. I made a solid base for it out of 4 mm thick brass plates, which I sawed accordingly, chamfered slightly at the edges and glued under the base.

After a lot of repair and supplementary work, a quite beautiful column lamp was created after all, which will keep its place in the collection.

Column of the same marble. Column base and capital (Corinthian) of decorative cast zinc. Undermount receiver 23 mm.
Clear glass font with faceted cut wall, Ø 156 mm, brass undermount replaced. Now 23 mm thread. Removable font.

British tulip shade, colourless glass, flat etched floral motifs, upper rim fluted.
Height 197 mm, Ø fitter 101 and top rim 214 mm.
100 mm globe holder for 20’’’ burners.
