A rare, 3-stage American "Gone with the wind" lamp with very well preserved painting. A very rare and also lucky catch on eBay USA. These 3-stage lamps (consisting of three glass parts) are quite rare, the non-electrified ones even extremely rare. Here with this lamp I had everything my heart desired: three-tiered and complete (only the chimney was missing) with the accompanying ball shade, which is usually almost always missing! Never electrified, with the original burner and flame disc! And not painted in a gaudy and kitschy way, but rather in a reserved way, with small floral arrangements, which I like much more than the usual large floral paintings. This large lamp finally made the long journey from the USA to Germany.

The glass parts are made of white milk glass. The reddish-brown outlines of the floral motifs are printed; everything else is hand-painted, partly with impasto raised areas on the rose petals.

The base is made of cast iron, as usual; in former times it was galvanically bronzed. After careful cleaning, however, only a wafer-thin copper layer remained of the bronzing. In order to make the base match the rest of the lamp optically, I have re-bronzed it with gold wax. I could easily clean and polish the other metal parts made of sheet brass.

The burner is from P&A. Last patent date is April 1895, so one can assume the lamp dates from about 1895-1900. A new USA #2 chimney completed the lamp.

This magnificent lamp is one of the rare and therefore valuable lamps in my collection.
