A small, delicate porcelain lamp that I constructed myself with a hand-painted porcelain candlestick from the 1890s and a small glass font for kerosene/paraffin lamps. The reason was a small plug-in glass font that came with another small lamp. I had the idea of converting a corresponding porcelain candlestick together with this font into a kerosene/paraffin lamp. These small glass fonts with the specific metal undermount to be inserted in any candle holder are called “peg lamp” in Great Britain.
The original candlestick is finely painted porcelain from the Sitzendorf Porcelain Manufactory in Thuringia. The ensemble consists of two children who sit on a bench in front of a tree trunk and admire the flowers that have been collected. The tree trunk is the actual candle holder. This candlestick with its typical, pleasant composition of the late 19th century with fine painting is a beautiful collector's item in very good condition without cracks or chips. The base is signed underneath: porcelain mark of Sitzendorf + 34. This signature was used between 1884 and 1902.
The French tulip painted with flowers complements this lamp very well.

Glass font made of green mould-blown glass, Ø 94 mm. With metal undermount for peg lamps.
Burner:
8’’’ Kosmos burner of an unknown producer (probably of Hugo Schneider, Leipzig).
Wick knob marked: Kosmos=Brenner.
Flat wick 41 mm.
Glass chimney:
8’’’ Kosmos chimney. Height 180 mm, Ø fitter 36 mm.
Marked: Cristal Recuit 8’’’ + crown in circle.
Shade and shade holder:
French tulip shade, structure frosted colourless glass, polychrome painted flowers, fluted and golden outlined top rim.
Height 99 mm, Ø fitter 52 and top rim 125 mm.
52 mm globe holder for 8’’’/10’’’ burners.
Lamp dimensions:
Height up to collar 30.0 cm, total height with chimney 51.4 cm.
Total weight 920 g.
