L.339
Another classic German glass lamp with a painted Vesta shade, very similar to lamp L.053. The difference here is that a font of blue glass is used. These glass lamps belong to the very often produced glass lamps, so they are not special at all. But the combination of the intensely coloured glass font with the white opal glass of the base has a special attraction every time. This lamp is also likely to have been made around 1900-1910.
The wick knob of the high-quality Stübgen burner had been covered with solder, (probably to cover the image of the bat?). I have sanded off most of the solder coating.
When you let the lamp burn, you notice the advantages of a smaller Kosmos burner in combination with the correspondingly small Vesta shade: the flame illuminates the shade very well and spreads a nice light without using too much kerosene/paraffin.
