A great lamp from Hinks & Son with the ceramic parts from Royal Doulton! It could hardly be more noble and of higher quality. When I discovered the lamp on eBay France, I neither knew that it came from Hinks & Son nor that the ceramic parts were produced by Royal Doulton. It was only the sublime beauty of the lamp that magically attracted me.

All the greater was my astonishment and joy when I took the lamp apart and discovered the corresponding marks of these famous companies. The signature of Hinks & Son was engraved under the base on the iron weight, but was quite difficult to decipher. The ceramic parts (glazed stoneware) were marked Doulton Lambeth England and model no. 2629. This means that the lamp was made shortly after 1891, when the designation "England" had to be additionally impressed. It was not until 1902 that the company name was Royal Doulton.

The lamp came with a Matador burner from E&G. They had soldered the appropriate thread into the bayonet collar. I replaced the collar with a genuine Hinks collar. The Duplex burner called "Boler" is produced by Hinks & Son for the French company Boler Frères.

Surprisingly, I was able to find an oval-bulge Duplex chimney with a French brand. Remarkable: the lamp, the burner and the chimney all came from France! Only the large tulip shade came to me from the UK. I am already very happy to count this beautiful and at the same time valuable lamp to my collection.
