One of the highest quality pillar lamps in my collection! Column made of finest onyx marble, all around diagonally fluted, heavy and raised with the noble cast brass parts! Probably extremely rare. This column was offered by a Dutch dealer on eBay USA. However, it wanted to come to me...

The base consists of a heavy, square onyx marble slab with concave corners rounded inwards. Under this plate a brass plate is screwed on. A heavy, round column of obliquely fluted onyx marble rises from the base. The base and capital of the column are of very finely cast brass. However, I could not disassemble the combination. Due to the high quality of the machined parts, I would rather assume that the lamp comes from Great Britain; however, there is no proof.

It was clear that valuable parts had to be added to this majestic column. So I bought a finely cut, large, two-tone crystal font and a very finely etched Victorian tulip shade on eBay UK. I was able to buy a rare 20’’’ Elite burner with lifting and extinguishing mechanism on eBay France. A chimney marked with Odin logo by Carl Holy completed the lamp.

The font from the UK proved problematic as the undermount had a 23 mm thread instead of 22 mm as stated. I had to get 2 additional brass undermounts from England to make a suitable connector. The whole combination has become a magnificent majestic lamp, a proud piece of my collection!
