A tall, slender column lamp from France, completely assembled from brass parts. Apart from the beautifully designed, openwork base made of cast brass and the attractively cut Baccarat font, the lamp has no special features. Its construction is quite simple.
 
The base and the column as well as the font collar were originally completely nickel-plated, of which only a few traces remained, but which gave the lamp a dirty, shabby look. I had to work for a long time to remove these nickel residues almost completely; especially the fluted column was very laborious to clean. In the end, however, the result was a very beautiful, dignified lamp body.

I put on a nickel-plated Bürger burner by Carl Holy, for which I also had the suitably marked chimney.

The large tulip shade, coloured green on top, is a new production from Poland. It is etched in one step. The size and the colour go well with the large lamp. Really old tulips or ball shades in this size are unfortunately hardly affordable anymore, so you have to resort to these new tulips.

All in all, I have built up a large column lamp that is equipped with inexpensive but well-matched parts.

Base of heavy, elaborately designed, openwork cast brass, on 4 feet, 159 x 159 mm, Ø 211 mm.
Column of vertically ribbed brass, with a base of simple brass sheet. In the foot a small cast iron part.
Font of clear crystal glass by Baccarat, Ø 158 mm, removable. Olive cuts on the upper rim.

Burner:
20’’’ Bürger burner of Carl Holy, Berlin, nickel-plated, for the French market.
Wick knob marked: Odin (Logo of Carl Holy for France). Black glass insert.
Original flame disc Carl Holy.
Flat wick 84 mm.

Glass chimney:
20’’’ Matador chimney with slim bulge. Height 279 mm, Ø fitter 64 mm.
Marked: Cristal Supérieur 20''' + Logo Carl Holy.

Shade and shade holder:
Tulip shade, frosted glass, light green top, colourless bottom, transparent motifs, tp rim fluted and frilled. New production from Poland.
Height 217 mm, Ø fitter 93 and top rim 191 mm.
95 mm globe holder for 20’’’ burners.

Lamp dimensions:
Height up to collar 50.0 cm, total height with chimney 81.9 cm.
Total weight 3230 g.
