L.302

A small, charming porcelain lamp from France, as a twin sister of L.240. The porcelain vase is from Germany; the bottom mark is by Eduard Liebmann in Schney, Bavaria (used 1887-1923). It may even be that the vase was originally marketed as a small flower vase, and later converted to a kerosene/paraffin lamp by gluing a small cast brass base at the bottom, which fits the style very well, and a collar at the top. The combination is definitely very well done.

The Kosmos burner supplied was - as usual - completely defective; I had to replace it with a proper burner from Wild & Wessel. I put two twin tulips on these two, very similar porcelain lamps in turn, so that they now complement each other like a pair.

The two porcelain lamps make a charming duo; they are not identical, but still very similar. Presumably they were made as lamps for children's rooms.
