A small porcelain lamp that I constructed myself from a hand-painted porcelain candlestick from the 20th century and a small kerosene/paraffin font. Here, too, the reason was a small glass font that I had bought for another lamp, but for which it was too small. So I bought a matching porcelain candlestick in order to construct a kerosene/paraffin lamp.

The original candlestick is made of finely painted bisque porcelain from the Kalk porcelain factory in Thuringia. A putto is sitting in front of a tree and looking at the pigeon sitting on his arm. The tree trunk is the actual candlestick. A sweet scene in strong colours, in very good signature of Kalk porcelain factory. This signature was used between 1900 and 1976. The candlestick here is probably from the second half of the 20th century.

One problem was the candlestick cup, which was very irregularly shaped and did not allow the font to be held upright. Therefore I plastered the undermount in a leftover brass candlestick cup and glued it into the porcelain cup. This means that the original candlestick cannot be used again as such.

Finally, I completed the lamp with a small tulip shade with matching colour and fanciful shape.
